About Karen Bennett

Hypnotherapy is a long way from home for me.  I grew up in very small towns in Western Iowa.  I am the daughter of two educators and a sister to three brothers.  I grew up with traditional midwestern values and philosophies.  Upon graduation from a class size of approx. 20, I attended Iowa State University graduating with a degree in Fashion Merchandising.  Much to my parent’s surprise, I left Iowa to move to New York City to take a position with Saks Fifth Ave as a Personal Shopper.  This real life education opened my eyes to another world.  I will always treasure this experience.

After discovering that one cannot financially survive NYC on a retail salary, I moved to the Saks Fifth Ave store in Kansas City, MO.  This ultimately led to a job with American Century Mutual Funds where I spent my days educating investors about their investment portfolios.  It was while I was working for this incredible company that I went back to school to get my M.S. in Adult Education from Kansas State University.

After receiving my Masters Degree, I began traveling the country, on a part-time basis, delivering seminars for American Management Association.  I worked with companies helping to develop stronger customer service skills as well as better personal communication.

During this time I met my wonderful husband, Ed, of 18 years and we had 3 beautiful children.  It is with my family that I find my true bliss!

While living in Shawnee, Kansas, I read a book titled Many Lives, Many Masters by Dr. Brian Weiss.  I recommended this book to my book club and it was received with heated debate.  This was the first time that I was introduced to hypnosis and one of it’s many uses…..past life regression.  I would spend the next decade reading similar books that expanded my mind and challenged my own beliefs.

In December of 1999, we moved our family to Parker, Colorado where I, joyfully, stayed home with my children.  In 2006, I decided that it was time to try on a new career and enrolled at the Denver School of Hypnotherapy.

I opened Hypnotic Connections in March of 2007.  Since this time, I have grown tremendously on an emotional and spiritual level.  It is incredibly fulfilling to be able to assist others on their path towards healing.  I am truly thankful for all my clients who have put their trust into our relationship.

Yes, I am a long way from home….and it feels great!
